This was stated by a few speakers during a seminar. The seminar was organised by the Akhil Bharatiya Ganga, Gou (cow), and Himalaya Raksha Abhiyan Samiti at Jamia Salphia in Reori Talab area on Monday. The speakers said Muslims should come forward to protect and safeguard the faith of the Hindus by protecting the cow.
President of the samiti and state minister in the Uttranchal Government, Maulana Sayed Masood Madani said it was ‘our duty to safeguard the religious faith of Hindu brothers’. “Madarsas should keep cows to serve it and offered milk to the students,” he said and added other animals figured in Islam for purpose of sacrifice to Allah, therefore, Muslims should desist from sacrifice of cows.
He said sacrifice of cow was a major tension area between the Hindus and the Muslims for a long period. “In a bid to launch a massive campaign to protect the cow, a national organisation had been formed after ensuring participation of Hindus and Muslims,” he said. He said this campaign was underway across the country in states like Uttar Pradesh, Uttaranchal, Delhi, Haryana, Punjab and Himachal Pradesh.
He said two big groups of Muslim community from Bareilly Sharif and Deoband were extending support to the ongoing campaign of the samiti. He said ‘Pithadeheshears’ of the four peeths were patrons of the samiti. He said the Hindus and the Muslims should ensure protection of the Ganga.
The samiti would stage a demonstration in Lucknow on June 8 demanding a total ban on cow slaughter and reduction in the size of Tehri dam.
