After Irom Bobo (40) raped his 12-year-old niece in his house on Monday night, she came out crying on the road and met women guards ('Meira Paibis' in Manipuri) who took her to the house of local gram panchayat pradhan Dwijamani.

Locals on Tuesday morning barged into the house of Bobo and handed him over to the Patsoi police station.

The girl was taken to the Regional Institute of Medical Science and Hospital here where her medical test was conducted, police said.
