UNIDENTIFIED MISCREANTS shot at a man at Lalghati under the Koh-e-Fiza police station area on Friday. The victim was injured and is undergoing treatment at the hospital.
According to police, the incident occurred when the victim, Syed Haidar Ali, 58, a resident of Gandhi Nagar, was passing through Lalghati on his motorcycle when three youths who were riding a motorcycle shot at him.
The miscreants fled the spot soon after the incident. The victim was admitted to the hospital. It is suspected that the accused fired at him with a 12-bore country-made revolver. The pellets hit him in the stomach. Panic prevailed in the area.
Meanwhile, the police rushed the victim to the hospital. The condition of the injured is reported to be stable. CSP Ajay Pandey said that Haidar Ali works at the Food Corporation of India (FCI) where he is a union leader and the incident is related to rivalry amongst the union leaders. Ali has named some suspects. He was fired at from close range.
