Goa police has identified the person who tampered with the Closed Circuit Television Camera (CCTV) at Fab India’s outlet in Calangute which was spotted by Union HRD minister Smriti Irani on April 3.
Goa police has chosen not to reveal the identity of the person to ensure investigations are not hampered. Particularly because even after sending summons, and reminders, 14 persons, including the top management of Fabindia, did not appear before Goa police to record their statement.
The managing director and some senior officers of the firmtold police that they will visit the police station on Tuesday and will co-operate in the investigation. But they did not even bother to inform us that they are not coming, said Karthik Kashyap, superintendent of police at Goa.
Goa police till now has questioned 10 people including the IT manager. The technician of the agency which had installed the CCTV camera also gave the actual plan on how the CCTV’s would be installed in the showroom. As per the original plan, the CCTV was not supposed to be focusing towards the changing room.
Prima facie it was found that one of the four accused changed the direction of the lens towards changing room around two months ago, an official said.

{{/usCountry}}After Irani spotted the CCTV camera, BJP MLA Michael Lobo had filed a complaint on behalf of Irani at Calangute police station. Based on which police had arrested four accused — Paresh Bhagat, Raju Payanachi, Prashant Naik and Karim Lakhani.
