Nearly 30 rebels raided the police station at Kakiriguma, about 40 km from Koraput, around midnight and triggered a powerful explosion, Laxmipur Sub-Divisional Police Officer O Y Jagannath Rao said.

Shouting slogans against the government and security forces, the ultras also torched a police jeep parked on the premises before disappearing in nearby forest, he said.

However, no one was injured in the attack. The lone sentry manning the police station escaped.

Police reinforcement have been rushed to the area.
