Mayawati directs officials to expedite projects

Expressing dissatisfaction over the slow pace of development work in major cities of the state, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati has asked the officials concerned to expedite them at the earliest.

Expressing dissatisfaction over the slow pace of development work in major cities of the state, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati has asked the officials concerned to expedite them at the earliest.

Reviewing the progress of development work last night, the chief minister expressed her dissatisfaction over the slow progress of the projects in Agra, Vrindavan-Mathura, Kannauj, Lucknow, Varanasi, Meerut, Allahabad, Kanpur-Bithoor and Faizabad.

"Despite the clear cut directives at the time of foundation laying ceremony of the various schemes that they should be completed in a time bound manner without compromising on quality, the progress has not been as desired," she told the officials.

Mayawati directed the chief secretary and other officials to immediately start these schemes and monitor them from time to time and also ensure its quality.

Warning against any laxity in implementation of these schemes, she asked the officials to complete them timely.
