Mayor Shraddha Jadhav said the gallery will be set up at the Andheri Sports Complex.

Jadhav said, “It is a very special occasion for us since the Indian team has made us proud by winning in Mumbai. Hence, this occasion should be commemorated for posterity.” The mayor identified a 2,000 sqft plot in the complex, where she has proposed to have memorabilia items from the World Cup on display.

This gallery will also commemorate the 1983 World Cup win. “We will display the photographs of players who played 1983 and 2011, as well as photographs from memorable matches from both years,” Jadhav added.

The gallery will also feature video clips of matches from these two cups.

Jadhav, however, said no cost had been decided yet. “We have just initiated the proposal. The administration will make an estimate and start work immediately. It should be ready in about four months,” Jadhav said.
