According to the Mirror, the former Beatles legend has enrolled himself for private 90-minute Hatha yoga classes in The Hamptons in New York along with actor Alec Baldwin and producer Lorne Michaels, and has been attending the classes three times a week.

The classes are designed to provide "a balanced and wholesome approach to achieving perfect physical and mental health, happiness and tranquillity".

A pal of the singer said that McCartney had turned to yoga to help him cope with the stress that he has been under for the past few months.

"The last few months have been incredibly difficult and he is aware of the need to look after himself. He finds yoga the perfect way to help him unwind and relax," the pal said.

"Paul is a very fit and active guy who likes to stay in shape and has been doing a bit of yoga to help his emotional and physical well-being," the friend added.
