MCD official arrested for taking bribe

A key official in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi's malaria department was caught by the CBI for allegedly taking a bribe to recommend the promotion of an employee.

Deputy Medical Health Officer CP Singh was arrested by the CBI at his Connaught Place office for allegedly taking Rs 2,000 from the employee to recommend his promotion.

During subsequent searches at the residence of Singh, who was looking after the malaria department of the MCD, the CBI claimed to have found several files for which he may have allegedly received illegal gratification for recommending the cases.
