The quake measuring 4.6 on the Richter scale shook the Kashmir valley rattling doors and windows of buildings around mid-night, a spokesman of the state disaster management said.

However, there are no reports of any casualty from the state, he said.

The epicentre of the quake was in northwest of Kashmir at latitude 35.3 North and longtitude 74.7 East.

The tremor was third in less than a fortnight in the Valley. A moderate earthquake measuring 5.7 on the Richter scale jolted Kashmir on February 28 which was followed by a tremor of 4.5 magnitude on March 13.
