Militants attack shopkeeper's house, no casualty reported

Unidentified militants attacked a a shopkeeper's house in the interior Thoubal district by exploding a grenade, official sources said on Saturday.

Unidentified militants attacked a a shopkeeper's house in the interior Thoubal district by exploding a grenade, official sources said on Saturday.

The militants set off the grenade at the house of Ahmad Ali (45) at Tulihal Konjin Leikai area Thursday night damaging windows, roof and other portions of the house.

However, no casualty was reported, sources said adding that Ali and his family members were present at the time of the incident.

Ali runs a shop at Yairipok area, not far from his house, sources said adding that monetary demand from the shop-owner could be the reason behind the incident.

No individual or group has claimed responsibility for the attack so far.
