An elderly woman was found dead on Wednesday as miscreants chopped off her legs and allegedly robbed her heavy silver anklets and gold earrings in Hatod village near here, police said.

The deceased, Leela Bai (70), was living alone in Bhoi locality of Hatod and was found dead in the house by neighbours who went inside to look for her when she did not answer.


The body was found with chopped legs and her anklets weighing around 1.5 kg and gold earrings were missing, police said. It was suspected to be a case of property dispute and family feud, they said.
