In a major embarrassment to the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS), its two legislators were not allowed to attend the meeting. According to officials, CM Prithviraj Chavan contended that the meeting was with mill workers and not with politicians.

This infuriated MNS chief Raj Thackeray, who said, “The CM refuses to meet legislators and when they get an appointment, they are asked to stay out? I have heard that he doesn’t meet legislators from his own party; he refuses to meet officers as well, so what does he do? Chavan later told, “I will convene a special meeting with the legislators to discuss the mill land issue.”
