Modi meets top officials after oath-taking ceremony

In the meeting, the PM is believed to have been briefed about his bilateral meetings with heads of states and governments of SAARC countries, including Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa, on Tuesday.

Soon after taking over, Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a meeting with officials on Monday night.

In the meeting, the PM is believed to have been briefed about his bilateral meetings with heads of states and governments of SAARC countries, including Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa, on Tuesday.



"Reached Gujarat Bhavan after the programmes at Rashtrapati Bhawan. Will begin my first official briefing meeting with officials shortly," Modi said in tweet.



Modi will have "short duration bilateral meetings" with all the SAARC leaders.



Besides Sharif and Rajapaksa, Modi is expected to hold talks with Afghanistan President Hamid Karzai, Bhutanese Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay, Nepal Prime Minister Sushil Koirala and Maldivian President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom.



All these SAARC leaders were present on the occasion of Modi's swearing-in.
