Scindia stated the above in response to a query on a government notification wherein it was specified to add ‘Shrimant’ before the name of State Sport Minister and his aunt Ms Yashodhara Raje Scindia. He said Scindia family had strong political bond with the people.

Scindia said he did not want to go into the controversy as to who objected to this and why, but he respected his aunt most. The people still talked of emotional relations his late father Madhavrao Scindia and his grandmother Vijayaraje Scindia had with people, he added.

Scindia said the way the Scindia family adopted democratic system after the Independence and protected its values was an example. “We all are equal and together in this setup”, he added. The Congress in the State criticised the government notification.
