Chandigarh was lashed by 16.2 mm of rain and the maximum here settled at 31.6 degrees celsius, four degrees below normal, the Met said here.
In Haryana, Ambala was the wettest place in the state as it was drenched by heavy showers at 69 mm. The maximum at Ambala dropped five degrees below normal to settle at 31.6 C. Hisar registered a maximum of 36.6 C, down two notches and received a rainfall of 9 mm. Karnal and Kurukshetra were also lashed by rains.
In Punjab, Amritsar recorded a high of 33.8 C, down three and a rainfall of 15.2 mm.
With rains cooling the region, Ludhiana and Patiala also had a pleasant day recording respective maximums of 31.5 C and 32.9 C. A heavy downpour (45 mm) lashed Ludhiana while Patiala also received good amount of rain (22.8 mm).
