NCP okays Sonia Gandhi as PM

The Nationalist Congress Party, an ally of Congress, has said that it will go by the consensus of other allies on the leadership issue.

Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), an ally of Congress, said on Friday that it will go by the consensus of other allies on the leadership issue including Congress President Sonia Gandhi.

Observing that the Congress President has convened a meeting of allies on May 16 or 17, party spokesman Praful Patel told reporters that "NCP will go with whatever consensus emerges."

He was talking to reporters after the Working Committee of the party, chaired by party President Sharad Pawar.
