New V-C takes charge

HOSHIYAR SINGH, the new Vice Chancellor of Jiwaji University took over charge from DC Tiwari (acting VC) here this afternoon in a simple function. Hoshiyar Singh is a noted academician and was V-C at Bikaner University (Rajashtan) before taking up this assignment.

HOSHIYAR SINGH, the new Vice Chancellor of Jiwaji University took over charge from DC Tiwari (acting VC) here this afternoon in a simple function. Hoshiyar Singh is a noted academician and was V-C at Bikaner University (Rajashtan) before taking up this assignment. He has to his credit 22 books and over 88 research papers.

Talking to a group of reporters today Singh said teaching and research work would be his top priority as V-C here. Besides, he will also lay emphasis on activities relating to students’ welfare and maintain proper coordination with affiliated institutions to regulate implementation of the UGC- sponsored courses and programmes there.

He expressed concern over the manner in which affiliated institutions attempt to violate guidelines. He promised to keep a check on unfair practices without bowing to any pressure. He replied that efforts should be made to open more number of examination centers to encourage competition amongst aspirants. Registrar DS Chandel and others were present on this occasion.
