NHAI likely to act fast on elevated road
The Haryana government wants the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) to speed up the work on the proposed elevated highway on the Delhi-Gurgaon expressway.
The Haryana government wants the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) to speed up the work on the proposed elevated highway on the Delhi-Gurgaon expressway.
It will take up this and many other issues regarding expressway infrastructure with NHAI top brass.
The government also proposes to construct more underpasses and foot-over bridges on the expressway, especially between Rajiv Chowk and Industrial Model Township (IMT), Manesar.
On Saturday, local MP Rao Inderjit Singh along with NHAI chairman AK Upadhyay, Union transport secretary and other senior officials of the NHAI and state government will drive down on the expressway to understand the commuters’ problems.
“Following the frequent complaints by commuters, we have invited the NHAI chairman and other officials to conduct a joint inspection of the stretch. We will drive down the 18-km stretch between Delhi-Gurgaon border toll plaza and Khedki Daula toll plaza,” the MP said.
“The NHAI has asked the state government to bear half the cost of the elevated highway project,” Singh added.
