''We are for a united Andhra Pradesh and against splitting the state,'' CPI(M) politburo member Sitaram Yechuri told reporters here.

Asked whether alliance between Congress and Telengana Rastriya Samiti (TRS) meant that the former would agree to the TRS demand of Telengana state which might widen the gap between Congress and CPI(M), Yechuri claimed Congress was not in favour of Telengana state.

Congress was for formation of a state reorganisation committee which, if set up, would include all such statehood demands, the CPI(M) leader said.
