NRI College win inaugural match

NRI COLLEGE today registered a convincing victory in the inaugural match of the State-level volleyball championship that began at NRI College. The championship is being organised by Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogiki Vishwavidyalaya (RGPV). In the first tie, NRI College team did not even once allow Oriental College to gain an upper hand. Though Oriental College played well in the first part of the game, they failed to maintain it in the end.

NRI COLLEGE today registered a convincing victory in the inaugural match of the State-level volleyball championship that began at NRI College. The championship is being organised by Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogiki Vishwavidyalaya (RGPV). In the first tie, NRI College team did not even once allow Oriental College to gain an upper hand. Though Oriental College played well in the first part of the game, they failed to maintain it in the end.

Playing before home crowd, players of NRI College demonstrated best of their volleyball skills through strong services and good returns. After registering 25-11 win in the first set, NRI team was ready to script win in the inaugural tie. Playing according to expectations, NRI team won the match 25-11 and 25-13.

Winning team’s skipper Abhishek Nigote and Sohail Khan entertained spectators by their impressive game. In the other matches, Vivekanand Indore defeated NRI Gwalior 25-23, 25-18 and Vaishnav College Indore thumped Radharaman College Gwalior 25-20, 25-23.

Earlier, RGPV VC Prof. MC Gupta inaugurated the championship. In all, 20 teams of various engineering from across the State are participating in the championship. He said such events provide opportunity to the students to demonstrate their talent. NRI College Chairman Subodh Singh said that the college was committed to promote sports events.
