NRI reappointed Trustee of UK's National Heritage Fund

Non-Resident Indian Madhu Anjali has been re-appointed as a Trustee of Britain's National Heritage Memorial fund for a three-year term.

Non-Resident Indian Madhu Anjali has been re-appointed as a Trustee of Britain's National Heritage Memorial fund for a three-year term from July 21, 2005, by Prime Minister Tony Blair, it was officially announced here last night.

Anjali has extensive experience in Education, Local government and the arts. She was formerly Head of Equality Services, Berkshire County Council.

Following an early career in teaching she moved to Keele University to carry out research on a number of educational subjects. Having served on the boards of numerous public arts and education organizations, Anjali is currently a non-service member of the extended interview board of the Home Office and a General Commissioner of Taxes for Berkshire.

She became a trustee of the Memorial Fund in July 2002.

The National Heritage Memorial Fund is a fund of last resort which provides grants for buying items which are of outstanding interest, importance to the national heritage, and which are at risk of being developed, damaged or destroyed.

The Fund is also responsible for the distribution of the heritage share of the proceeds from the National Lottery via the Heritage Lottery Fund.
