NST to fete women hockey players

SPORTS MAGAZINE ‘National Sports Times’ (NST) will felicitate national women hockey team in the 12th sports awards functions to be organised in the City on May 15.

According to NST editor-in-chief Indrajeet Maurya, the NST has decided to felicitate the national women hockey team. The team recently performed well in the Commonwealth Games held in Australia. Besides, the NST will felicitate Ranji player Raja Ali, international fencing player Bhupendra Singh, international women wrestler Fatima Bano, international kayaking and canoeing player Ankit Pachauri, coach Shahnawaz Khan (badminton), Y S Chauhan (hockey) and Ramesh Patel (gymnastic).

The NST will also felicitate sports journalists Dr Suresh Sharma, Vishwakarma Das, Nagin Barakiya and R K Yaduvanshi. The sports promoters that are to be awarded include MPCA secretary Sanjay Jagdale, MP Tiwari and Hamidullah Khan ‘Mamu’.
