NTC to contest two seats in Jharkhand

The Nationalist Trinamool Congress, a coalition partner in Vajpayee-led NDA govt, has agreed to contest two parilamentary seats.

Nationalist Trinamool Congress (NTC), a coalition partner in the Vajpayee-led NDA government, has agreed in principle to contest two parilamentary seats --Jamshedpur and Dhanbad- in Jharkhand,according to NTC's Jharkhard working president Jyotindermoy Choudury.

He said here today that the names of party candidates were likely to be announced within a day or two.

JD(U), a NDA constituent partner at centre as well as in Arjun Munda-led Jharkhand government, has already decided to contest the parliamentary poll in the state after its seat-sharing talks with BJP failed recently.

The BJP will be contesting from all the 14 parliamentary constituencies in the state whereas NTC will field its candidate in Jharkhand for the first time in the coming poll.
