"Last year our growth was fabulous. It was 20 per cent growth. We hope to maintain the double digit growth and grow faster this year," Omega International Vice President sales director Raynald Aeschlimann told reporters.

On the government's decision to allow 51 per cent FDI in single brand retail, Aeschlimann said this would further "accelerate our initiatives and help us open more exclusive boutiques in prestigious cities in India".

Opening the first exclusive Omega outlet in the city and the fifth in the country, Aeschlimann said last five years in India has been great for the company.

"Indian market has a great potential and the consumers here have a great liking for luxury watches".

Aeschlimann said Omega is in talks with a "male celebrity and within three months the brand will have a new face".

Film actress Sonali Bendre, who inaugurated the outlet, is already the Omega brand ambassador in India.
