In Pakistan's National Assembly (NA), members seem to be giving more attention to discussing 'palmistry' than the important issues facing the country.

Apparently they don't even have time to give an ear to what others have to say over the burning issues confronting the country -- including the ongoing violent protests against the blasphemous cartoons.

On Wednesday, despite the warnings and requests from the NA Speaker to maintain order in the House and concentrate on the proceedings, the members at the backbenches on both the sides - Treasury and Opposition - continued to discuss palmistry in hushed tones.

According to The Nation, while member after member delivered speeches on serious issues, small groups of National Assembly members were busy gossiping.

It said that for about half-an-hour Farzeen Sarfraz kept on giving palmistry tips to her NA colleagues Doniya Aziz, and Oneiza Ehsan.

Farzeen reportedly pointed towards Doniya's marriage line and explained it in detail.

The trio had little interest in what was going on in the House and kept ignoring Speaker's warnings.

They, perhaps, did not listen even to the warnings of the Speaker as they kept their eyes focussed on their palms and the findings.

Perhaps they were reading the country's future in their palms!
