It was reported that the animal was forced into a lorry to go to Mudumalai for the elephant camp. But as the elephant behaved violently and the lorry driver was not able to drive, the mahouts were forced to off load the elephant from the lorry at Avinashi.

The elephant had been tortured by mahouts from Kerala to quell its violent behaviour.

Congress MP, Karvendan, talking to reporters at palani appealed to the government to immediately appoint a team of doctors to give treatment to the elephant.
