Parabrahmaiah takes over as AU FO
A FINANCE and accounts expert having over 35 years' experience in handling various financial and administrative challenges, S Parabrahmaiah, took over as the first regular Finance Officer (FO) of Allahabad Central University on Friday.
A FINANCE and accounts expert having over 35 years' experience in handling various financial and administrative challenges, S Parabrahmaiah, took over as the first regular Finance Officer (FO) of Allahabad Central University on Friday.
The former Deputy Registrar (Finance and Accounts section) of the University of Hyderabad took over the charge formally from the acting FO Prof JN Mishra this morning after which he took a round of various sections of the FO's office and the Registrar's office and interacted with the on-duty staff members and officials.
It is to be recalled that a senior teacher of AU's Commerce Department Prof JN Mishra had taken over as the new acting Finance Officer (FO) of the varsity on March 23, 2006.
The change of guard had taken place after the AU Vice-Chancellor Prof Rajen Harshe had decided to relieve HN Shukla from the post of FO with immediate effect following a request in this regard from the state government.
HN Shukla had received his transfer order in February 2006 itself following the varsity attaining the Central status.
Born on July 1, 1948 and hailing from Andhra Pradesh, S Parabrahmaiah has a vast experience of serving in various departments and organisations including the defence accounts, research and development organisations as well as autonomous organisations including a Central University.
Having done his initial schooling at Hyderabad, he did his MSc (Statistics) from Vikram University, Ujjain in 1970. Parabrahmaiah also has a PGDHRM degree from IGNOU (1999), MBA (finance) from IGNOU (2000) and has done Pre MPhil from Jawaharlal Nehru Technical University, Hyderabad (2001). He has also completed a number of training courses in computer application, finance management and IT.
Parabrahmaiah started his career as an Auditor, Controller of Defence Accounts (Southern Command), Pune in 1970 and worked there till 1978. This followed stints as section officer (Pay and Accounts Office), EME, Secunderabad from 1978 to 1982, superintendent (audit and accounts) at Indian Agricultural and Research Institute, New Delhi from 1982 to 1987 and assistant accounts officer at the Controller of Accounts office of Ordinance Factory, Medak from 1987 to 1989.
S Parabrahmaiah worked as assistant accounts officer at the office of the Controller General of Defence Accounts, New Delhi from 1989 to 1993, assistant FO and assistant registrar (finance) at the University of Hyderabad between 1993 to 1999, finance and accounts officer at the International Advanced Research Centre, Hyderabad from 1999 to 2002, assistant registrar, Hyderabad University from 2002 to 2003 and from 2003 onwards as deputy registrar at the same university.
