Reports reaching here stated that over two dozen residents in Asraura and Kutubpur villages in Phulpur have fallen sick due to malaria and viral fever. Four diarrhoea patients have also been admitted into the Phulpur primary health centre.
A doctors' team from Phulpur PHC visited Asraura and Kutubpur villages on Monday and examined patients. The team also identified eight diarrhoea patients.
The slides of all the suspected malaria patients were made in these two villages. The patients were also given chloroquine and diarrhoea tablets.
Phulpur PHC dy superintendent Dr (Captain) Ashutosh said the new PHC was also alerted to monitor the patients in Asraura and Kutubpur villages.
"No death has been reported due to malaria or diarrhoea. But all the suspected malaria patients have been kept under close observation. The ANMs have also been directed to daily visit the village and ensure that all the patients got medicines and other treatment," he added.
Dr Ashutosh said as many as 31 wells in Asraura and Kutubpur have also been chlorinated. The residents were asked to drink only boiled water, he added.
