In a memorandum submitted to Union Home Minister P Chidambaram in Puducherry on Saturday, Association President A.Gabriel said presently around 300 MBBS students pass out of private medical colleges in the union territory every year but they had no quota for PG courses in these institutions.
They had to compete in the general stream to get PG seats at the All-India level to join the colleges, he said.
Gabriel said the association had already requested the Puducherry Government to ensure a special reservation of seats in PG courses in JIPMER, an autonomous institution funded by the Centre.
