PM delighted at Sharma's election as C'wealth Secy General
Prime Minister Manmohan Singh says he was delighted at the election of India's nominee Kamlesh Sharma as the next Secretary General of the Commonwealth.

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Saturday said he was delighted at the election of India's nominee Kamlesh Sharma as the next Secretary General of the Commonwealth.
"I am delighted that the Commonwealth Heads of government have selected Kamlesh Sharma as the next Secretary General of the Commonwealth," Singh said in a statement.
He said Sharma's long record of public service in the international community has been capped by this recognition of his capabilities and inclusive vision of the Commonwealth.
"I am confident that he acquit himself well in his higher responsibilities as the first servant of the entire Commonwealth," the Prime Minister said.
