A 33-year-old executive was brutally assaulted by three carjackers on Thursday night while he was boarding his car at a parking lot on Golf Course road. One of the accused was, however, caught after a short police chase.
Victim Sachinder Mohan Arora, an associate with consulting firm Copal Partner Private Limited, left his office at Vatika Atrium in Sector 53 around 11pm.
When Arora was entering his Swift car, three men attacked and pushed him inside the vehicle. The accused then drove the car towards Badshahpur and assaulted Arora on the way before dumping him off at the Golf Course extension road in Sector 56.
Arora then approached PCR van number 11 which was patrolling the area. The Sushant Lok police station was informed and ASI Lal Singh was sent for the task.
Singh and Arora went towards the Gurgaon expressway in the police jeep to locate the car.
When the duo reached Hero Honda Chowk, they saw the vehicle heading towards Jaipur. Singh chased the car for a few kilometres before overtaking it. Only one of the accused, however, could be caught while the others fled the spot. During interrogation, he revealed the names of his accomplices and one of them was arrested.
The accused were identified as Anil Kumar (30) and Dheeraj Singh (20), both from Rohtak. The third accused, identified as Billi from Delhi, is absconding. A local court on Friday sent them in police remand for two days.
