Police picked up a top Ulfa militant Mrinal Hazarika from a hotel in Siliguri in the wee hours of Thursday.
Official sources said Hazarilka was a 'lieutenant' of Ulfa and was in charge of Western Assam. He was resting in a hotel here during his journey from Nepal to Assam.
He was being interrogated by central intelligence officials and West Bengal Police.
