Police lathi charge residents

Police resorted to lathi-charge when agitating residents in Mathura tried to block the National Highway.

Police resorted to lathi-charge when agitating residents of Indra Puri colony in Mathura tried to block National Highway near Goverdhan crossing on Tuesday.

The residents were protesting after police allegedly failed to provide information about a 12-year-old child of the colony who died in an accident.

According to police the residents of Indra Puri colony turned restive on Monday when it did not disclosed the whereabouts of the child of the colony who was run over by a speeding school bus.

Twelve-year-old, Sanni, was going to market with his mother when he was run over by a school bus. The injured child was immediately rushed to the hospital where doctors declared him dead. The police seized the vehicle but the driver of the bus managed to escape.

Residents demanded immediate action against the policemen responsible for lathicharge.
