Tight security measures were being taken following the AAPSU sponsored-bandh, which started on Tuesday, over inclusion of names of 1497 Chakma-Hajong refugees in the electoral roll, official sources said.
Normal life was affected in the state capital on Tuesday due to the bandh with shops and business establishments downing shutters.
No untoward incident was reported, the sources said.
Altogether 13 candidates were in fray for the two Lok Sabha seats -- six for the East seat and seven for West. However, the contest is mainly between BJP and Congress-Aruanchal Congress alliance.
Of the 1700 odd polling stations, 250 have been identified as hyper-sensitive while 594 were sensitive, the sources said.
