Prabhu Deva, wife seek mutual divorce
Tamil actor-choreographer Prabhu Deva and his estranged wife Latha today filed a mutual petition seeking a divorce before a Family Court in Chennai.
Tamil actor-choreographer Prabhu Deva and his estranged wife Latha on Tuesday filed a mutual petition seeking a divorce before a Family Court in Chennai.
They appeared before the Family Court judge I Pandurangan and filed the petition seeking to dissolve the marriage solemnized as per Hindu rites and customs in September 1995.
Latha was an actress till their marriage and the couple has three children.
Following difference of opinion, they were living separately for more than two years.
Latha had three months ago filed a petition seeking restoration of conjugal rights after newspaper reports that Prabhu Deva was having an affair with actress Nayanathara and he ignored the family.
However, Prabhu Deva and Latha on Tuesday filed petition submitting that all efforts taken by mediators and elders in their families failed to find a solution and they agreed for mutual consent of divorce.
Latha also withdrew her earlier petitions pending before the court.
The judge adjourned the matter for further hearing.
