A special court issued a non-bailable warrant against Anees Ibrahim, younger brother of fugitive don Dawood Ibrahim.
A special court on Friday issued a non-bailable warrant against Anees Ibrahim, younger brother of fugitive don Dawood Ibrahim, for his alleged complicity in the builder Pradip Jain murder case.
Besides Anees, non-bailable warrant was also issued against one Sunil Nair in the same case, after special public prosecutor Ujjwal Nikam moved an application in this regard, sources said.
The prosecution informed the court that it wanted to book Anees and Nair in the present case and would eventually seek that both be declared proclaimed offenders, before Interpol help was sought to nab them.
Anees and Nair are shown as absconding accused in the 2001 murder case of Jain, who was allegedly murdered by the shooters of underworld don Abu Salem over a property dispute.
Salem, after his interrogation in the Jain murder case some time back, had claimed that he executed the murder on the instructions of Anees Ibrahim.
