Pregnant woman, three children murdered

A pregnant woman and her three children were allegedly murdered by some unidentified men in Mohalla Gauhar Ali in Agzalgarh area in Bijnor, police said.

Throats of Chotti (40) and her three children Rukhsana (12), Farzana (8) and Faizan (6) were slit by the accused while they were asleep in their house on Thursday night.

However, two of her children, a one-year-old boy and Shahnawaz escaped the notice of the culprits. The husband of the woman, Abdul Rashid Ansari, was away from home when the murder took place.

Shamshad, one of Chotti's stepsons, who was recently out of jail is a suspect in the case, circle officer Ranvir Singh said, adding he is absconding.

One person has been taken into custody on suspicion.
