An inquiry by education officials revealed that the teacher — Raju Kumar — had attempted to molest two class IV girls inside the school premises, officials said on Tuesday.

The Inquiry was conducted by the Additional Basic Education Officer (ABSA) —Rajesh Sharma, on orders

of the Ghaziabad Basic Education Officer.

“In our Inquiry, we have concluded that the teacher was responsible for certain sexually motivated advances towards the two students,” Sharma told Hindustan Times.

“The incident occurred when the girls had gone to have some water inside the school premises,” he added.

After the incident, the two minor girls complained to their parents, who later approached school officials. “The other teachers also confirmed that the incident had taken place and an Inquiry was ordered into the incident,” Sharma said.

During the enquiry, the ABSA got confirmation of the incident by the two minors who narrated the sequence of events as they had taken place, officials said.

“Finding the teacher responsible for the act, we have suspended him with immediate effect and have forwarded the enquiry reports to the state officials,” Rajesh Srivas, Ghaziabad Basic Education Officer told HT.

“We cannot tolerate any such instances with students, especially girls,” he added.

Following his suspension, the teacher has been asked not to attend school, as there could be a backlash against him.
