Manmohan Singh is scheduled to arrive at Biju Patnaik airport from New Delhi at about 11.30 am and will directly proceed to Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) University at state capital Bhubaneswar, a senior state home department official told IANS.

At KIIT, he will inaugurate the 92nd session of Indian Economic Association (IEA) conference. Nearly 3,000 delegates from across the country are expected to attend this conference, the official said.

Later, the prime minister will proceed to Jatni, about 25 km from here, to lay the foundation stone of the new campus of National Institute for Science Education and Research (NISER).

After laying the foundation stone, he is scheduled to return to New Delhi, the official said.

Elaborate security arrangements have been made at the airport and the places the prime minister is scheduled to visit, Deputy Commissioner of Police H.K. Lal told IANS.

This is Manmohan Singh's second visit to the state as prime minister. His first visit was in August 2006 during his first tenure.
