“I had a talk with Kumar before he took oath as the chief minister. I refused the offer (of joining the government) as we were not keen on it,” Lalu said.

The RJD chief also lashed out at the BJP and PM Narendra Modi for making false promises of repatriating black money from foreign shores and depositing `15 lakh in the account of every Indian within a year.

“Many claimed that even I had huge money stashed abroad. But look how the BJP is trying to shy away from the issue. The Union government is now pushing the land acquisition bill which aims to snatch land from farmers. We will expose their real face,” he said, adding that on March 15, he would lead a demonstration in Patna from Gandhi Maidan to Raj Bhawan against the BJP.

“We are not supporting the JD(U) for any individual but on the common ground of safeguarding secularism. Whatever happened was their internal issue. But I still say that Manjhi is a good man,” he said.

The RJD chief also came out in defence of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh accused in the coal block allocation scam.
