In Bihar, online nomination for panchayat polls likely to get approval

For filing nominations online, candidates will have to go to designated portals and deposit the requisite fee through a challan digitally and subsequently visit the office of the returning officer (RO) at an appointed time.

In Bihar, exercise to update electoral rolls starts

The revision aims at enlisting new voters, including those having attained the age of 18 as on January 1, 2021 and also deleting names of deceased voters or those who have changed addresses. The exercise will continue till January 11 till when the claims and objections will be received by the election office.

900 Bihar farmers to miss out on govt subsidy for stubble burning

Bihar is the only state to have resorted to blocking of DBT to farmers to discourage the practice of stubble burning. The exercise has been undertaken by strict monitoring of the farm lands by agriculture coordinators and kisan mitras, says the state government.
