Revised central devolution estimates lend room for Bihar budget to swell

The budget size could increase by 5-7% compared to the current budget size of ₹2.37 lakh crore, they said, adding that education, rural development, health and agriculture would be the focus areas.

Bihar records bumper foodgrains production in 21-22; cold conditions raise hope of better rabi crops

As per the latest data of foodgrains production for 21-22, the state’s rice production was 77.17 lakh metric tonnes while wheat production stood at 68.89 lakh metric tonnes. The overall foodgrains production in both kharif and rabi seasons stood at 184.86 lakh metric tonnes.

Pollution watchdog cracks whip on brick kilns in Bihar, sets Jan deadline to switch to clean tech

Officials in the BSPCB said the survey findings based on ground verification have revealed that around 60% of the brick kilns have converted to clean technology while the rest 40% continue to manufacture bricks through old process, which is a major source of air pollution.
