Once again, Nupur Gokhle and Poonam Shah, through their splendid passes and scoring ability, led the winners’ charge against Jabalpur. they scored 20 points for the team. Nupur scored 8 while Poonam 12. Jabalpur could score only 16 points in the match. Vidhya scored the highest of 6 points. Pune won the match 41-16.

The second match of the day witnessed a close contest between Kolhapur and Nagarjuna. Though Kolhapur won the match, the team faced tough fight from Nagarjuna. Brilliant game of Ashwini and former junior national team player Suchitra of Kolhapur was the attraction of the match. The fast Suchitra scored 25 points.

Nagarjuan, that was posing problems to the opponents in the first part of the game, lost the rhythm in the last quarters and lost 43-57.

All the matches to be organised on Sunday will be played at Maj Dhyanchand Ground.
