Quota issue: IIM directors hold meeting

The meeting, being held at IIM Ahmedabad campus, is likely to take up the proposed controversial issue of reservation for OBCs in central institutes, IITs and IIMs, along with matters like autonomy.

Union Human Resource Minister Arjun Singh has announced a proposal to implement 27 per cent reservation in higher educational institutions after the elections in five states.

The reservation issue has already met with some opposition from several quarters.
