Railways job for Deepika now

Her double gold medal at the Commonwealth Games archery has landed Deepika Kumari with a job offer from the Ranchi Division of the South Eastern Railways (SER).

Sources close to the Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) Ranchi Division of the SER claimed that the Ranchi Division was directed by the headquarters in Kolkata to contact Deepika so that she can be associated with the SER. "Though she is under age for government service but the department has the power to condone it in cases of special sports personalities," the source added.

Deepika's father Shiv Charan Prajapati, however, did not know of the job offer. "She should join there where her sporting skill would continue to flourish," he said.

The archer also did not know of the offer. "My priority is to continue with my training for the Asian Games and Olympics. I have no time to think of a job at the moment," she said.
