Jamir is also the Chancellor of the university was reported to be pained when he accessed the damage on his visit to the university on Wednesday.

On Tuesday, MNS cadres had vandalised the office of Registrar N. Venkatramani over the circular adding Social Sciences as an option to languages.

Raj accompanied by his wife Sharmila arrived at Raj Bhavan at 9:15 am on Friday and spent half an hour with the governor.
According to a press release issued by the Raj Bhavan, it was a courtesy meeting.

MNS leaders refused to comment on the meeting. “I do not know what transpired as Rajsaheb was alone with the governor,” said Nitin Sardesai, spokesperson of MNS.

However, sources in the MNS said Raj explained to Jamir the circumstances while the latter advised the MNS chief to maintain restraint.

Right from last Saturday, when Raj reiterated his stance on continuing his fight against north Indians in the state, his cadres have been on the overdrive.

The MNS workers disrupted a cultural programme organised by north Indians in Nashik on Republic Day and then targeted the University of Mumbai Fort campus.
