Raman Singh skips BJP meet as mother passes away

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh skipped the three-day BJP national executive meeting that began in Nagpur today as his mother passed away at a private hospital in Raipur.

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh skipped the three-day Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national executive meeting that began in Nagpur on Friday as his mother passed away at a private hospital in Raipur.

Sudha Singh, 84, died early on Friday at the Ramkrishna Care Hospital where she had been since mid-December after she slipped into a coma at her native town Kawardha, some 125 km from in Raipur.

She is survived by two daughters and three sons, including the 56-year-old Raman Singh. Thousands of people attended the funeral in Kawardha in the afternoon.
