Sonalika Group, which has fast become the third most successful company in AgroAutomotives in a span of eight years, is ready with their latest offering to urban sector in the form of RHINO, a multi-utility vehicle. Premiered for the first time at Auto Expo for the car lovers, RHINO has been launched by International Cars and Motors Limited, a part of India's one of the fastest growing companies Sonalika Group. "It was logical for the company to heed the market research signals that Indian market is more than ready for MUVs beyond a niche. Hence we ventured into the urban auto industry and plan to cater to the neglected segment of ex-tended families," said Mr LD Mittal, Chairman, Sonalika Group, when asked what prompted them to diversify into urban auto segment.

While giving an overview of the strengths of ICML, Mr Deepak Mittal, Managing Director explained, "It has taken more than two years of re-search and on-board planning, with the conceptualisation and engineering in technical collaboration with MG Rover, UK, a name instrumental in designing SUVs and MUVs globally. We are already in a win-win situation as we have already got an advance order from Indonesia based on the quality consciousness of earlier products and our state-of-the-art plant."

When asked about the logic behind setting up the manufacturing unit, Mr LD Mittal informed that the strategic decision of setting up the world-class plant in Himachal Pradesh, which is tax-free zone for manufacturers as well as buyers, was meant to directly pass on the benefits to the consumers in the form of value added features in the vehicle.

"The completely air-pressurised, ISO: 9001 and ISO: 14000 certified manufacturing plant of International Cars & Motors Limited is considered to be at par with the international manufacturing units of other auto brands. More importantly, foreign delegation visiting the plant always nods with amazement at the stringent quality control measures taken by the company, "added Mr Mittal.

While talking about future prospects of RHINO, which is being positioned as Practical, Comfortable, Efficient and Affordable Vehicle for joint families by Sonalika Group, Mr Mittal, said, "We have taken strategic decision in keeping RHINO for 50% ex-ports and 50% for domestic markets so that we can very well match the international standards at domestic levels and optimise the automotive needs of common Indian."
