As the house assembled after ten-day holiday for the Holi festival, Speaker Ishwardas Rohani made the obituary reference
and expressed his condolence to the leaders.

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, leader of the Opposition Jamuna Devi and floor leaders of other parties joined the Speaker in paying tributes to the departed leaders.

Former Chief Minister Babulal Gaur and Congress member Arif Aqueel demanded that a suitable memorial should be erected in memory of Ms Maimoona Sultan of Bhopal, who was first elected to the Assembly in 1952 and later became a member of the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha.

After observing two-minutes silence, the House was adjourned for five minutes as a mark of respect to the departed leaders.
