“Juveniles should not be spared because they are not 18-years-old, the law should see the heinousness of their crime and situation of the victim,” she said.

“The special court’s decision of giving the death sentence to seven of the accused has brought relief for me but the eighth accused, who was a juvenile, should also get the same treatment, because he was an equal partner in the crime and should not be left because he was a minor at the time of incident”, she added.

On February 1, the victim, who stayed with her sister in Rohtak, went missing. Her mutilated body was found on February 4, with the post-mortem report stating that she had been subjected to torture and gang-rape before she was murdered.

A ninth accused reportedly committed suicide in New Delhi.
